Ruth hadn’t always been so shy. Derek and her would throw wild parties in Duff House during the 1960s. Josse remembers creeping down stairs in his pyjamas to find hundreds of party goers dancing about the hall and cellars. His mother in her ‘Dolly Rocker’ her special party dress that Derek had treated her to and the only dress Dora hadn’t made. It was a short black and white number, with a lacy collar and pleated hem. She was so stunning and had many admirers during those hedonistic days.
